A Tees Valley Collaborative Trust School is awarded the Inclusion Quality Mark Award for Inclusive Schools, with Flagship School Status!

Bishopton Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) has achieved Flagship status following the school’s ongoing journey with the nationally recognised Quality Mark.

An assessor spent the day in school meeting with staff, students and stakeholders to reviewevidence that Bishopton is a wholly inclusive school before a resounding yes was given for the school to be awarded flagship status. Bishopton PRU is one of only four PRUs in the country to be awarded this prestigious title which demonstrates Bishopton’s aspirational view of inclusion and reflects the hard work and high standards of all.

The Inclusion Quality Mark provides schools with a nationally recognised framework to guide their inclusion journey and to give a nationally recognised validation of their inclusive practice and ongoing commitment to developing educational inclusion. Bishopton started it’s Inclusion Quality Mark journey in 2018. The school had its first assessment day, and the assessor was so impressed she recommended that Bishopton became a Centre of Excellence.

Since then, Bishopton have continued to work hard in this area and maintained the Centre of Excellence status in 2019 and 2020 before being awarded Flagship status in October 2021.
