Staff and students at the Tees Valley Collaborative Trust joined the region in pausing to remember those who lost their lives in the two World Wars and later conflicts in a special service at 11am on Friday 9th November.
The annual ceremony held at Prior Pursglove College in Guisborough, was led by CEO of Tees Valley Collaborative Trust and Principal of Prior Pursglove and Stockton Sixth Form College Joanna Bailey. The event was attended by staff, students and colleagues from Prior Pursglove College, Laurence Jackson School and Errington Primary School.
The ceremony featured a number of read poems, stories, music and video footage of remembrance and observed a poignant two minutes’ silence before laying wreaths at a place of memorial.
Joanna Bailey, Principal of Prior Pursglove and Stockton Sixth Form College, said: “Each year staff and students come together to remember those who sacrificed so much in past and present conflicts.
“We joined to observe the national two minutes’ silence and also marked the tribute with moving readings and personal stories.
“The event was a fitting tribute to our heroic servicemen and women.”
